What do you do?
Pixie-Productions will send a fully costumed character of your choice to your event
location. There, the character will engage in games and stories with your guests. For our
main packages, we perform a special crowning ceremony. During this time, the character
will ask the child to, essentially, always be the best person he or she can (specific
characters talk about showcasing specific traits appropriate to their story). We have several
package options so that your experience may be tailor to fit your needs.We also provide a
photographer and will send you the brightened and lightened photos within two weeks of
your event!
What happened to the fairies Candythorn and Fizzle?
Candythorn and Fizzle will always be around. They are the fairies, the bringers of magic and
make-believe. We have just expanded our character family (as we have always intended) to
include a wider variety of enchantment!
Isn't ____________ under copyright?
All of our characters are taken from the public domain, meaning they are not under
copyright. Most people assume that a particular company came up with a character or a
character's name, but a closer look at the original tales shows that is not true. Belle was
Belle in the original "Belle et la Bête" (Beauty and the Beast), Aurora was named so in
Tchaikovsky's ballet, Dame Gothel was the wicked witch in the original Rapunzel, etc. We
have taken each detail into careful consideration to avoid copyright infringment.
Why can't you offer Disney characters? Other companies do!
We respect the Walt Disney company, so we do not use their trademarked characters and
products for profit. It is illegal to do so, and jeapordizes Disney's image. However, our
actors use speech, movement, and mannerisms (as well as costumes, accessories, and hair
styles) to give the correct illusion. We work hard to make sure your child believes he or she
has truly been visited by a fairy-tale character.
What sets you apart from other companies?
We are unique in many ways! We constantly give back to our community, by volunteering
our services, donating a portion of our party profits, and promoting our favorite charitable
organizations. But we are also unique in quality. Where appropriate, our entertainers wear
quality wigs--we never buy from halloween stores! You will not see our wigs or our
costumes in any shop! We also sew our own costumes using quality material. These may
seem like trivial notes, but when it comes to taking pictures, a cheap wig or low-quality
satin will show its true colors. Beyond that, our actors also study their characters. We look
at each characters' back story, how the character would move, how the character would
talk--all of it! We work hard to be the best we can.
Does Pixie-Productions give back to the community?
Yes. We offer our services free at certain events, so that children may be entertained while
their parents enjoy other event activities. But even more exciting than that, each of our
characters are assosciated with their own charity. That means when you book a
Pixie-Productions character for a birthday party, a portion of the proceeds will go to that
charity. It's just one more way we want to make a difference in the world!
Can I buy your costumes?
We do not sell our costumes or divulge certain costuming secrets, but we can offer tips,
tutorials, and the names of vendors who make exceptional costumes. All of our suggested
vendors are also entrepenuers; we will not refer you to any chain operations or
factory-fueled companies!
Do you just do kid's parties?
Absolutely not! We are available for play-dates, bedtime stories, random visits, weddings,
grown-up birthdays, anniversary parties, random parties, sweet 16s, honeymoons, company
events, church gatherings--all sorts of things! While we are happy to attend a grown-up's
birthday (ask about our Neverland upgrade!), we DO NOT ever do "adult" parties.
How far will you travel for an event?
All parties within a 20 mile radius of LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma are included in our
current rates. However, we charge $1 per mile round-trip, so we are able to travel
absolutely anywhere! Any city, and state, and, yes, any country! If the event location is not
in Oklahoma, travel expenses apply.
What happens if snow or ice affect my party?
Since Oklahoma can be really cruel during the winter, we now offer something truly special:
if weather threatens your party, you get a rain check. As soon as you get a new date
picked out, let us know, and you will still get your character. That offer is good for
anything on the client's end, such as low attendance rate, your location being closed off due
to ice, or losing electricity in a storm. We understand that safety is a parent's number one
concern. As for weather-issues on our part, if we are unable to attend your party due to
weather and you would not like a raincheck, we will fully refund your deposit AND send a
letter full of birthday wishes from the character to your birthday girl (or boy!). We believe
weather should never dictate birthday fun!
